The late afternoon and evening weather on July 18 was prefect for a top-down drive to Mark’s Classic Cruise in East Granby, CT. A small group of folks from the CTR and MG clubs met first at a nearby strip mall then we made our way to Mark’s. By the time we arrived, there were already 300 cars on the field, based on the numbered entry ticket we were given. We learned later that there were a total of 564 cars at the Cruise that night!
What is neat about this event is the variety of vehicles: cars, trucks, old, new, domestic, foreign, daily drivers, highly modified, and many with interesting vanity license plates. It was fun to walk up and down the aisles of cars, seeing the pride and passion of every car owner.
Congratulations go to Duane Adams from Bloomfield whose 1954 MG TF was selected for one of the Trophy Awards that evening. The awards are based on criteria such as rarity, engine, detailing, vintage, history, and the like. His vehicle likely caught the eye of everyone at the cruise! Great job Duane!
