HOT Flash!

40th Anniversary Commemorative Drive this weekend…….!

On Sunday, May 16th it’s time to pack your bucket and spade for a trip to the seaside. Once again we are following in the tyre tracks of the founding members of the Connecticut Triumph Association and will be driving from Middletown to Hammonasset Beach State Park. Participants should gather at Harbor Park in Middletown at 12:45pm for a 1pm departure.

The original event had its gathering point on Main Street in Middletown and went down routes 17 and 79 to Hammonasset. Our commemorative run differs slightly: we will assemble at Harbor Park in Middletown and will take a small detour to enjoy the scenic beauty of route 77 from Durham in preference to the rather less interesting route 79. At Hammonasset those who wish may picnic or frolic in the waters of Long Island Sound. You’ve already paid for entrance to all the state parks in your car’s registration fee, so you may as well turn out and enjoy it!

If you plan to take part in the drive, an email to Neville Wardle (nwardle2@comcast.net) will help keep you updated if the weather affects the plan.

SUN SHINES ON 40th ANNIVERSARY RUN!

Forty years after the Connecticut Triumph Association held its first ever driving event  to the Devil’s Hopyard waterfalls and Gillette Castle, we celebrated the event by duplicating their trip by following in their tyre tracks on a sparkling spring day!  For the complete story click here.

All about us:

Membership in the Connecticut Triumph Register is open to anyone with an interest in Triumph Cars – any year, any model, any condition!  Previous Triumph owners, current Triumph owners, even prospective Triumph owners are welcome to join our family-oriented Club.  To join the club, just click on ‘Join CTR’ at the top of this page.

Bell City Diner Pic3CTR Club meetings are presently ‘ON HOLD” due to the Covid-19 pandemic, but they are  normally held at the Bell City Diner in Forestville (860-585-9393) on the third Monday of each month (except for December). The gathering usually starts with food and drink around 6:30 pm, followed by the business end of the meeting, and is usually over by 8:30 p.m.  To reach the Bell City Diner, take exit 33 off I84 (east or west). Follow route 72 west to the second light (approx. 2 miles).  Turn left onto Lincoln Street, then left again onto Pine Street. The Bell City Diner is on the right.

The CTR club tries to sponsor an event each month, such as trips to other club shows,  Auto-jumbles, trips to local wineries, drive-in cruises, etc. and our annual car show held each September at Wickham Park in Manchester, CT.  All of these events can be found by clicking on ‘CTR Events Calendar’ at the top of this page.

Recent News:

Back in February a massive fire tore through the Hole in the Wall Camp in Ashford Connecticut, causing catastrophic damage to the Arts & Crafts, Woodshop, Cooking Zone and Camp Store buildings.

As most of you know, the Hole in the Wall Gang Camp is the charitable organization that our CTR club sponsors with donations generated from annual events such as The CT British Reliability Run.  At a special on-line meeting of our Executive Committee, we unanimously  decided to make a special donation to the Hole in the Wall Gang Camp’s fund to rebuild the buildings destroyed by the fire.  Below it a copy of a letter sent to all of us, saying ‘Thank you’ for our donation………..
